Simple Where It Counts

Smack on drums and get visual feedback, then let it update the quick controls directly under the kit for the most simple, quick, and effective changes possible. You can even link and un-link the tom controls on this menu for grouped-tom control movement. It doesn't get any easier or quicker than this!

Make Big Moves Or Use Deliberate Detail

Move any control as much or as little as you want, or move entire groups of controls together for the fastest mix experience ever! This level of control is unprecedented in drum virtual instruments!

Want to go even deeper? Every drum and every cymbal has mutes and solos for each microphone set. The level of control in Deviant Drums is immense!

The Drum List Is Totally Insane

Deviant Drums was recorded in a super quiet room with a noise level that measured at 13db, and recording didn't stop until it was impossible to include any more drums or cymbals in Kontakt. Then the user interface wasn't finished until there were intuitive controls and options almost everywhere!

There is no room for expansion packs that include more drums or cymbals! There are no subscription services, there are no tricks! You get everything, for one price, in one package, forever.

You'll be finding new ways to explore Deviant Drums for years!

Mix Tools On Every Drum... And Beyond

Clicking on the tape labels below the meters reveals hidden controls for additional tone shaping.

FOR EACH DRUM!

Every drum comes with it's own eq, transient designer, reverb, and frequency shifter, and every one of those controls is designed to stay within a musical range.

On top of that, there's a master section, complete with buss compression, saturation, and a 4 band parametric eq. All of this gives you total control, so that you can take your drum mix to a level that was previously not available all in one package.

Fully Compliant with Native Instruments NKS

Deviant Drums is fully compliant with the Native Instruments NKS platform, which means you have complete hardware integration. If you use a Kontrol or Maschine midi controller, you'll be pleased to see the integration at work. Light guides will show where drums, cymbals, and keyswitches are, and they update with any mapping changes.

If you're visually impaired, the Deviant Drums Kontrol integration allows for a deep level of control beyond what the competitors are offering.

But even if you're not visually impaired, you'll still enjoy 15 pages of meticulously laid out, adjustable and automatable parameters for drums, cymbals, and effects, that can be manipulated right from the Native instruments hardware controllers.

Simple Software Solution

Being NKS compliant has even more user advantages. Use Native Access to register and download Deviant Drums, then automatically receive updates and presets as they become available.

This has the added benefit of being available for use in the free version of Kontakt, known as Kontakt Player.

Additional care was also taken to make sure that Deviant Drums released with as much broad compatibility as possible, so it was developed for Kontakt 6.8.

Creative Mapping Madness

You can't call a company Chaos Tones without some madness.

Keyboard drummers will appreciate the default mapping of 4 kick drum keys for extreme metal, but that's just a warm up.

With Poly mapping engaged, you can have multiple drums, cymbals, or keyswitches on a single key, allowing for some creative non-traditional usage. Or you can switch to Mono mapping and access a traditional, advanced, yet flexible mapping approach, including an algorithm for intelligent mapping that helps you locate the closest available unmapped note. You can also select from 14 different familiar mapping options from a dropdown menu, or save and load your own custom mapping.

Deviant Drums also has keyswitching options that let you take your favorite Deviant drum sounds, and mangle the heck out of them in real-time. And then when you feel like expanding on that, the Brutality Knob lets you brutalize the tonality of the keyswitches. We also have the ability to randomize drums on the fly with keyswitching. Could you imagine putting the snare randomizer keyswitch on the snare trigger in an instrument that has 48 available snare tones?

The options on the mapping page are truly chaotic!

Feature Heavy & CPU Lite

The Memory manager allows you to take control of the way Deviant Drums interfaces with your computer. If you're working on a lower spec computer, you can engage the Memory Manager to dramatically lower the amount of impact that Kontakt may be requiring from your machine.

You could even go one step further and start unloading drums and cymbals from ram if you only wanted specific portions of Deviant Drums, for an ultra-lite experience.

For The Power Users

The current build of Deviant Drums comes with 50 snapshots (presets) that range from familiar and popular Rock and Metal sounds, to tones that chart new territory.

If you're on quick turnaround deadlines or you just want to try out a different mix setting, the quick menu offers mix presets and ultra-fast adjustment options no matter where you are in the instrument. Change the drum set, change the cymbals, change the master section settings with your own presets, use your own saved presets, or link all the tom controls for fast mixing, from a menu that you can see from any page in the instrument.

And for the most demanding power users, Intuitive routing options exist under the mixer, giving the ability to send independent outputs straight to your daw or interface.

The Deviant Drums Experience

As it was being developed, and before it was released, Deviant Drums needed to feel like the best option every time acoustic drum sounds were needed. That means it needed to sound the best, inspire creativity, have incredible versatility, have more available sounds than anything else. It needed to be easy enough for a user at any skill level, while also having all the features a pro user could need, and more.

All of that needed to happen without expansion packs, without subscription plans, and with so much built-in value that one might call it a "no brainer".

That was a tall order, but the mission was accomplished! Get Deviant Drums today!

Deviant One-Shots

Every purchase of Deviant Drums for Kontakt includes One-Shot files for every drum contained within the Deviant Drums virtual instrument.

Every drum comes in its natural unprocessed form, as if the red "smash" voicing button were off. Every drum also comes in CRANKED form, where it gets absolutely demolished with an API 2500 compressor, followed by an SSL G-Comp compressor, followed by a touch of a Weiss limiter.

All of the CRANKED one-shots also come in both "close" and "roomy" variations.

Overall That's 286 one-shot files!
